Paul R. Curren, P. E.
President and Senior Principal
Petaluma CA Office

With 29 years experience in construction, engineering and cost analysis, Paul Curren brings a practical, service-oriented approach to site work and pavement rehabilitation problems. In addition to overseeing company operations, Mr. Curren supervises the firm’s technical engineering activities in soils and deflection testing, pavement investigating and contract documentation. He has extensive experience supervising pavement construction, analyzing asphalt concrete compaction, testing asphalt concrete density using nuclear gauges and core testing, and in stabilizing soft and yielding subgrades using deep-lift asphalt concrete. Prior to co-founding Pavement Engineering, Inc. in 1987, Curren worked for CHEC Consultants, Testing Engineers, Inc., Jacobs Associates and the Sonoma County Road Department.

William J. Long, P. E.
Vice President and Senior Principal

William Long began his career as a department supervisor for Testing Engineers in 1985, then advanced to CHEC Consultants, Inc. where he quickly built his skills in deflection studies, failure analyses, overlay design and alternative rehabilitation designs. Today, Mr. Long manages Pavement Engineering’s Redding CA office and focuses his 24 years of experience on the engineering and construction of asphalt concrete pavements. Long has an extensive background in materials testing, analysis and QC/QA projects.

Joseph L. Ririe, P. E.
Vice President and Principal
San Luis Obispo CA Office

Joseph Ririe manages PEI's San Luis Obispo office and is accountable for the overall planning and direction of the office. Mr. Ririe's 18 years of experience in business and engineering includes project management and construction administration, hydrology and hydraulics design, pavement rehabilitation design, product development, supervision of products manufacturing and design development. Mr. Ririe has also served as a chairman for three years on the Soil and Rock Sub-committee for the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Mr. Ririe has overseen numerous construction projects for both public and private clients. Highlights include Goleta USD infrastructure and pavement rehabilitation projects with construction dollars totaling over 10 million. Mr. Ririe also serves as the Back-up Industry Coordinator for Caltrans' Pavement Preservation Task Group.

Mike Wasden, LLA

As PEI’s landscape architect / design manager, Mike Wasden uses his creative landscape skills for streetscapes, hardscapes and parking lot enhancement projects. Wasden manages the Petaluma office and is responsible for design and overall project management. He also handles cost estimates, reports, change orders and inspection services and has assisted with soils and asphalt concrete testing for the company.

Troy L. Sisneros
Senior Engineering Technician

Troy Sisneros is responsible for Dynaflect field testing and nuclear density compaction control for Pavement Engineering, Inc. He also assists with inspections for rehabilitation and reconstruction projects, project design, reports, drafting and cost estimates. Mr. Sisneros is certified at NICET level 1 soils, asphalt and concrete testing, and has a Grade 1 certificate from the American Concrete Institute. In addition, he is a licensed nuclear radiation technician.

Theodore W. Moranda
Project Manager/Senior Engineering Technician

As a former pavement management specialist and construction project coordinator for the City of Oxnard CA, Ted Moranda’s experience merges the technical knowledge and management of slurry seals and overlays for street improvements with the hands-on oversight of inland waterway dredging projects and seawall maintenance. Mr. Moranda provides ongoing project support for PEI’s Southern California projects.

Lisa K. Senn
Project Manager / Senior Engineering Technician

Lisa Senn is Pavement Engineering’s client liaison. Ms. Senn is a Project Manager for PMS work. Her primary assignment has been the technical interfacing with clients for PEI's pavement evaluation systems and public domain Pavement Management System (PMS) software programs. Ms. Senn is a member of the Metropoliton Transportation Commission's (MTC) software development team. Client involvement has included projects with Jones Lang LaSalle, City of Atascadero, City of Calistoga, City of Camarillo, City of Concord, City of Oxnard, City of El Paso de Robles, City of Santa Clarita, Town of Windsor, County of Santa Barbara, Lompoc Unified School District and San Jose Unified School District.

Jeffery A. van den Eikhof, P.E.
Senior Associate Civil Engineer
San Luis Obispo CA Office

Jeffery van den Eikhof is a Senior Associate Engineer at Pavement Engineering Inc. and has 15 years of experience as an engineer for private consulting firms and public agencies. Mr. van den Eikhof has also served as the President of the San Luis Obispo Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Highlights include Sunken Gardens and Downtown Enhancement Projects for the City of Atascadero and Higuera Bridge Reconstruction Project for the City of San Luis Obispo. Mr. van den Eikhof has designed several small to medium sized subdivisions, prepared grading and drainage plans for residential and commercial projects, prepared hydrological studies and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), and designed the Atascadero Veteran's Memorial Park.

Aaron J. Pulpaneck
Laboratory Operations Manager
Redding CA Office

Aaron Pulpaneck brings over 7 years experience to Pavement Engineering, Inc. and currently manages all 3 PEI testing labs Caltrans and AMRL certified). Mr. Pulpaneck is certifed in over thirty California test methods, develops HVEEM and Marshall Mix designs, and performs testing on test strips. He is also certified in most AASHTO/ASTM aggregate and asphalt test methods. He has managed and performed testing on numerous QC/QA projects. Mr. Pulpaneck has served as lead inspector on public works paving projects throughout the State of California.
